I used to live in London. That was a long, long time ago. And although Samuel Johnson said:
“Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”
… I find that really isn’t true.
Whitby may be cut off in some ways, but as I said somewhere else on this site, there is really no need for everyone to be sitting in the same room anymore. I regularly work with my colleagues in real-time on Skype, using Dropbox and there are few disadvantages, if any. And the peace of mind and productivity enhancements I get from feeling calmer and less stressed by living in a slower, quieter way can’t be overvalued. But before I head too deep into Smugsville, I just wanted to share this picture of my commute this morning ;-)
Wish you were here. Chris x.
