Pannett Art Gallery
In 2016 Pannett Art Gallery in Whitby decided they required a new website. Their existing website had become old-fashioned and because it was hard to update, it had also become stale and had not been updated in a long while. There were also concerns about accessibility.
Media Vision designed and built a new website based on the popular WordPress framework. The CMS incorporates an easy to use and intuitive “page builder” which means that the site is now regularly updated and looks fresh and modern
During the initial discovery phase of the design, it was decided that the Gallery should have a new identity – or rather acquire an identity as there had been no branding up to that point. Media Vision based the new identity on the traditional widely spaced serif font on the facia of the museum and gallery building. We also incorporated the subdued heritage colours used within the gallery.
Addressing the need for proper accessibility Media Vision put in place a special feature allowing the website visitor to easily change the contrast and font size. Google Translate was also set up to cater for the large number of visitors from outside the English speaking world.
